Training Methods

SWEETGRASS DOGS uses positive-reinforcement based training methods. Food will be used as a motivator and reward for your dog during training. We do not use physical “corrections” or corrective tools. For more information check out our FAQs.

Acceptable tools:

  • body harness
  • head halter
  • flat buckle collar
  • flat leash (non-retractable)
  • muzzle
Payment

All prices are listed in CAD$
Upon registration, payment in full is required in the form of credit card or e-transfer. If you are not able to do so, please reach out to discuss alternative options.

Session Completion

All consultations and follow-up training sessions expire 6 (six) months after purchase. Any remaining sessions at that time, will be forfeited.

Cancellation & Re-scheduling

For in-person training, 24 hours notice prior to appointment is required to cancel or re-schedule, otherwise your session and payment are forfeited.*

For virtual training, 24 hours notice prior to appointment is required to cancel or re-schedule, otherwise you will be subject to a $20 cancellation fee.*

Cancelling and re-scheduling more than 24hrs prior to your appointment can be done through the Busy Paws Client Portal. Within that window, you must reach out directly at hello@sweetgrassdogs.com or 905-334-5900

*exceptions due to emergencies will be made at the discretion of your trainer.

Photos/Videos

We often take video or photos of clients and/or their dogs during sessions. These may be used for social media or be published in print, electronic or video format. In our contract, you will have the opportunity to “opt out” of this policy.

Health & Safety

Any and all dogs participating in training provided by SWEETGRASS DOGS must be up to date on vaccines or have had a recent titre test.

We are happy to work with dogs who have a bite history, but this must be disclosed at time of registration.
