What is Tutored Learning?
If you have a busy schedule and need to get right to the results, our Tutored Learning is for you. Unlike “Board and Train” where your dog lives in an unfamiliar place and with people or dogs you don’t know, with Tutored Learning your dog stays at home where they should be! Several times a week our certified professional trainer will come to your home and train with your dog while you can continue on with your work (or spa) day. This mode of training is efficient and effective – we can teach dogs more quickly than humans!
For the duration of your Tutored Learning package you will have support for questions or concerns through email, phone, and text. Once your package is completed, you will have access to a month worth of virtual office hours, held weekly.
*If outside of our service area, a travel surcharge will apply.
What issues can be addressed with Tutoring?
SKILLS:
- Obedience basics (ex. sit, down, wait, stay)
- Loose-leash walking
- Polite greetings
- Manners at the front door
- Recall
- Drop it/leave it
BEHAVIOURS:
- Leash reactivity (barking/lunging)
- Dog-directed aggression
- Resource guarding

All tutoring packages include:

Tutoring in 4 easy steps!
STEP 1
Goal-setting consult
Our first step is a 90 minute consultation to discuss your training goals and provide some immediate relief with prevention and management strategies.
STEP 2
We train your dog
Each week we hold two 45 minute tutoring sessions with your dog. You can watch us work, or go about your schedule as normal.
STEP 3
Transfer your dog’s new behaviour to you
At the end of each week we meet together for a one hour transfer session to go over your dog’s developing skills.
STEP 4
Set you up for a lifetime of success
Two and four weeks after our final transfer session, we will meet for a 1 hour follow-up to ensure lasting success of all your dog has learned.
